Well how’s the blogging coming along? In the last lesson on B + A =$Money, we discussed earning money with AdSense on your blog. If you’ve just joined our happy team, I suggest you scroll down and read that lesson first, as it will give you a strong foundation to build on. In this lesson we’re going to discuss 7 advanced strategies for increased income from blogging. Some of them you will find quite useful and easy to use, while others are more complicated and you may not like them at all.
We’ll list the pros and cons for each and you can decide for yourself which to implement. Note: that all of them can be done from the start and by even a beginner Blogger. And remember, you can make substantial revenue online, as long as you know the secrets used by the IM masters. At the end of this lesson you will know at least seven money-making secrets you can adopt from the outset of your cosmic blogging journey. Now lets begin.
1. Affiliate-Program Advertising:
According to Wikipedia: “Affiliate marketing is a web-based marketing practice in which a business rewards the Affiliate for each visitor or customer obtained by the affiliate’s marketing efforts thru back links place on web sites or blogs.”

The crucial aspect to making money through affiliate programs is traffic, which is simply the sheer number of visitors who arrive at your blog daily. Obviously the greater the number of visitors, the more opportunities or capacity you will have to recommend or successively promote any products, services or websites.
How does it work? Well it’s not Rocket science but it could easily Rocket your income to lofty heights, and the more blogs you have, the greater the income stream. Some say you should have 25 key-word rich blogs, but you can start affiliate selling with only one.
Once you’ve chosen you blog topic, you need to search for websites that sell products related to you blog. Most e-commerce sites are glad to have affiliates because of the quick and easy advertising it brings in. Go to your favorite sites and sign into their Affiliate program – it’s simple and free to do. You will then be given an Affiliate link code, so write it down somewhere. I simply created a word file where I copy/paste all my links, then they are accessible when I need to copy/paste them onto my blogs.
he emphasis is on links to specific WebPages, according to the long tail keywords you want to target. Search engine visitors will then find your blog and either click on the ads or convert on a product. Then sit back and watch the cash role in! It’s that easy.
Pros: Very little time is needed and the income is automatic, as long as you update your blogs on a regular basis. This by far, is the easiest method after adsense to set up for a newbie.
Cons: if there’s a lot of competition in your chosen niche, your traffic volume may be low, which is why many people try to set up several blogs in other niches, creating multiple streams of slow steady income.
2. Colossal Blog Track
While debatably the most profitable blogging venue, this route is also the most time-consuming way to go. A good example is what you’re reading right now. Large blogs like this require you to focus on content enrichment in order to target a large audience and high daily traffic numbers. Be sure you can successfully create a Colossal blog before attempting this track, being confident you have the niche knowledge and marketing skills required.
Pros: While the monetization potential is great, the recognition for your work will bring great personal fulfillment. Once a certain level of standing is achieved in the IM field, the Colossal track blogs usually promote themselves and can be promoted by fellow marketers.
Cons: These large blogs are very time consuming to establish on the net, so be prepared for hard work, experimentation, and have some creative promotional ideas ready to implement.
3. Get Paid to Blog or “Pay per Post”
That right, get paid just to post a blog – well it’s not quite that simple – OK maybe it is. There are several website which help content creators such as bloggers find advertisers willing to sponsor specific content. The advertisers describe the content they are looking for, and once the blogger has written a blog post that matches the requirements the PPP website handles the payment. To make this track worth while you will need to create several niche blogs on multiple hosts, maintain them for an extended period of time, and update relevant content to increase their Goolge PageRank, link profile, and Alexa ranking. Here’s a brief list of PPP sites to get you started:
Pros: Even a small-medium audience (20-30 readers a day) will generate $15-20 per day from each blog. With practice and skilled writing in several blogs, this track could possibly generate a steady income of $1,000 to $2,000 a month.
Cons: Not exactly passive income and writing sponsored blogs that are acceptable and relevant will require a good deal of work and research on your part (but you will learn a lot!); while maintaining each blog will be simple once the foundation is laid, it will require time and organization.
4. Word Scalping or Text-link vending
What’s the one thing that every e-commerce site wants? Answer: Google Page Rank! And since you’re a wonderful friendly IM’er, you’re willing to help them achieve it –for a price that is! How you ask – be selling words, or text in your niche relevant blog. We’ve all seen them – words in blogs or website that are underlined in blue – that take you on an instant digital journey to another site, well these are called text links (Ok –that one’s fake but I didn’t want to lose you). Also known as “Hyperlink”.
Wikipedia has this to say on the subject: “Rather than remaining static like traditional text, hypertext makes possible a dynamic organization of information through links and connections (called hyperlinks). Hypertext can be designed to perform various tasks; for instance when a user “clicks” on it or “hovers” over it, a bubble with a word definition may appear, a web page on a related subject may load, a video clip may run, or an application may open.” The best possibly place to locate businesses willing to pay for links is thru Webmaster forums.
Pros: While selling text links requires little work on your part, the profit achieved will depend on your own PageRank and niche; e.g. credit cards, etc are a high paying niche that doesn’t require volumes of traffic.
Cons: Maybe a limited number of links to sell; a drop in your PageRank will cause a drop in your traffic and lower the income ceiling.
5. Old Boys’ Club or Network Blogging
This method has little to do with ads really, but involves joining a network (or club) of other bloggers and getting paid to create and maintain quality content blogs. All bloggers agree to visit each other’s blogs, and get paid according to the number of page-views, plus a small base share, the sum coming from the blog networks’ ad profits.
Pros: Consistent monthly income, and the advantages that come from your association with the network of IM’ers, which can lead to contract or freelance writing assignments.
Cons: None that I can think off hand, except having to share the ad revenue with the entire network! Recommendation: an excellent place to gain creative experience, which you can later use to set up your own website, thus keeping the entire ad profits for yourself.
6. Sky Writing Blog or Name-Branding Track
So for this method you need an Airplane–just kidding. But the idea’s the same—you want promote your business brand name in a way that will bring you recognition and attract customers—sort of like sky writing your name all over the internet. If you have an online venture such as web design, copy writing or marketing consultation, blogging can improve your visibility and indirectly multiply your sales income. Remember to keep these types of blog clean and free of competing ads that may tarnish the image of your brand name product or service.
Pros: Can target specific demographics; improve search engine rank and visibility.
Cons: As we’ve pointed out before: the blog is only as good as the quality of the product or service you provide. Income generated depends on your credibility and reputation, not just on the rank of your blog.
7. The Auto-Splog Blog
I’ve intentionally left this one for last due the “grey area” nature of this method, in the hopes that you’ve already found the system which will work best for you. Let me explain why.
According to Wikipedia: “splogs are artificially created weblog sites, which the author uses to promote affiliated websites or to artificially increase the search engine rankings of associated sites. Automated blogging involves the setting up of blogs which automatically pull content from RSS feeds, search engines and news sources to serve as content on your website.”
If the RSS feed is designed to transfer the entire content from the source site, then you have a serious issue with copyright infringement laws (now do you see why I don’t recommend this course of action). Bloggers who use these automated sites earn thru contextual ads from Google AdSense, Yahoo, and affiliate programs.
Pros: Aside from a little SEO and scheduled upkeep, very little work is required on your part as the RSS feeds keep content updated daily, and there’s no writing on your part. Go for it if that’s your style, but don’t get caught blog scraping from other websites.
Cons: Splogs dwell in ethically grey areas of the law, and unless your very skilled technically, have a large number of blogs, the income generated will be limited. In my humble opinion, it’s not worth the effort, but to each his own.
I realize this has been a long lesson and I thank you for you attention thus far. Are there any questions? Yes, you there in the back corner, speak up!
How Much Money Can A Person Make Blogging?
